Sisters Maria and Randi, owners of Rossana Coffee Experience, are a dynamic duo who moved from Atlanta, Georgia to Arlington, Virginia a few years ago. Two years back, they decided to start a coffee food truck — and it’s been brewing joy ever since.
Now, if you know me, you know I’m not a coffee drinker — but I love tea! So I ordered a chai tea and chatted with the ladies (off and on) as customers came and went.
What struck me most while watching them work was, first, the number of repeat customers (and their pups!), and second, how smooth their system is. They’ve got it down pat. Randi takes orders while Maria crafts each espresso, coffee, or tea. When someone orders a baguette, Randi grabs the French bread and gets to work. It’s seamless.
What I appreciated most was how genuinely personal Randi is. She doesn’t just take your name like a Starbucks transaction — she introduces herself and asks for yours, too. When the order’s ready, she might even hop off the truck to hand it to you personally.
And yes — the dogs! So many pups came up to the truck barking for their pup cups. It was the cutest thing ever. One dog doesn’t even like pup cups — he prefers ice chips. He sat in front of the truck like he was placing an order himself.
✨ My Takeaways After an Hour with Rossana Coffee Experience:
It’s truly an experience.
Customers weren’t just grabbing coffee and leaving — they stayed, mingled, and engaged with each other. It was a mini-community in motion.
Their system is incredibly efficient.
Space is the biggest complaint you hear from food truck (not trailer) owners, but these ladies have mastered space management. They even made a custom table that fits over the driver’s seat and steering wheel — perfect for displaying baked goods.
Their customer service is top-tier
Maria and Randi plan to open a coffee shop one day. If (or when) they do, I have no doubt their current customers will happily follow them wherever they go.
